device detection enables mobile network operators to improve the penetration
and usage of their services, and therefore generate additional revenues: Ø
Customer support: instant identification of the
handset used by subscribers calling the helpline significantly decreases
customer care costs, Ø
Device configuration: automatically send the
right settings to the handset when first connected Ø
Promotion of services on the new handset, Ø
An instant view of the handset installed base,
this allows marketing teams to better identify new service opportunities by
analyzing consumer’s behavior and adapt their marketing strategy. PROJECT 2:

capable of handling telephony calls in a circuit-switched network. The
A5070 MGC is an initial step towards integration of the traditional
circuit switched network and the next-generation packet-based network. The
PSTN consists of two separate networks, one that carries the call signaling
information, and the other which carries the voice channels. The call
signaling information normally uses the SS7 signaling and is carried through
the SS7 network that consists of Signaling Transfer Points (STPs). The voice
channels aggregated in the form of Time Division Multiplexed (TDM) streams
are carried in T1 or DS1 interfaces or higher capacity DS3, OC3, or OC12 interfaces
in the PSTN. The MegaHub 600E provides the switching functionality in
the PSTN to interchange the time slots in the interfaces dynamically, to
originate, terminate or tandem the calls. PROJECT

Environment : UNIX Team size : 2 Duration : From June 2006 to Nov2006) General description: The Dynamically Controlled Routing (DCR) feature
provides the ability to optimize usage of inter-machine trunks (IMTs) to
significantly increase the network call completion rate as well as improve
the overall utilization of these facilities. NMP (Network Management Processor) to which NP
(Network Processor) gets connected supports both TCP/UDP protocols for
transport. Based on the client (NP) capability & requirement, it uses either
TCP or UDP. Client gets connected to the Server on a maximum of two IP links
(with TWO client transport addresses). If one link goes down the call is
routed through the secondary link. Contribution: ·
Studying R Spec ·
Design for supporting both UDP and
TCP transport mode on server side (NMP). ·
